Library - NOW CLOSED - Re-opening May 12th!
OPERATION UPGRADE: The Capilano Branch Library Seismic Upgrade and Renovation!
Re-opening with limited service: Monday, May 12, 2008 (date subject to change)

The Capilano Branch Library underground parkade is now closed. We are closed as of Monday, April 21 for the next stage of renovation work.

Other North Vancouver Libraries: Lynn Valley Main Library and Parkgate Branch Library.

When we re-open on Monday, May 12 (expected date), we will offer a limited storefront operation on the second floor of the Library. The storefront will be in operation during the summer months (May - August approximately), after which time we will close again to prepare for the next phase of Operation Upgrade.

Library hours during storefront operation (May - August):
Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday, 10:00am - 5:00pm

What will and will not be available during this time?
What Will Be Available:
- "New and Popular" adult and children's materials, plus audio-visual material such as CDs, DVDs, videos and audiobooks
- Holds pick up
- Some children's programming offsite - TBA
- Bookdrop (open 24 hours)

What Won’t Be Available:
- Underground or above ground library parking
- Internet service
- Wireless Internet
- Programs in the Library (book clubs, author readings)
- Training sessions in the Library
- Meeting room
- Study space
- Photocopying

Project Overview:
The seismic upgrade at the Capilano Branch Library got underway in mid-march. We anticipate that the upgrade process will be completed by the end of the year.

The work began in the parkade, move to the main floor and then the second floor. While the work is being completed, there will be no access to these areas of the Library.
